what to watch... when harry met sally... |

Enter Futurama . Obviously, this isn't a “movie,” but it is available on DVD, and so can be acquired by the average person to watch in a sort of/kind of movie capacity. And, of course, it starts on New Year's Eve, as Fry, our lazy, disenfranchised delivery boy hero, stumbles into a cryogenic lab where he is frozen . He awakens 1,000 years later. He wants to start over (eh?) but soon finds out that everyone in the future has pre-programmed career assignments. His ends up being … a delivery boy. He's furious, and rebels. Anyway, after meeting a robot (Bender), a cycloptic female (Leela) and his own relative (an aging doctor) he ends up not getting the pre-programmed chip. Instead, he decides to work with that relative of his as … a delivery boy. This show can be a bit hit-or-miss, but, for the most part, is worth checking out. If you want to skip to one of the best television episodes ever, try “Time Keeps Slipping Away,” in which the Globetrotters team up with Fry to fix a problem with the space continuum. It's comedy gold.
